Arvind Kejriwal Arrested: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate late in the evening on Thursday (21 March) after not getting any relief from the High Court in the liquor policy matter. The ED team had reached the CM’s residence late in the evening for questioning, after which he was arrested.
After the arrest of CM Kejriwal, he has now joined the list of Chief Ministers who have been arrested after holding the post. It is being claimed by the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party that he will continue on his post (Chief Minister).
With the arrest, speculations started on the names of the new CM.
After Kejriwal goes to jail, a constitutional crisis has started looming over Delhi. There is also speculation about the names of the contenders for Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation after going to jail. His wife Sunita Kejriwal’s name is being said to be at the top among the strong contenders as the new CM. He is a retired IRS officer and is well acquainted with the administration and politics of Delhi. The second big name is being considered to be the name of Cabinet Minister Atishi in the Kejriwal government.

Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia, who was Deputy CM in Delhi Government, and Satyendar Jain, who was Cabinet Minister, are also already in jail. Sanjay Singh is also in jail.
